My net salary is around BGN 700, I barely make ends meet, why should we pay these losses, complain the staff of the food outlet

Bosses at Bolero grocery store have already hit the ceiling of sassiness. Word has already been circulating among staff for several days that employees’ wages will be cut in order to raise funds to cover the scrapped goods. Svetlana Simeonova, who works as a security guard at the chain’s facility in block 164 of the Burgas housing complex, alerted Flagman.bg about this. “Slaveikov”.

According to her, all employees will have to set aside BGN 50 from their monthly salaries to cover the store’s losses from goods that have expired or gone sour before being sold.

“I’ve been working in the store since September 2022. My gross salary is BGN 900, and I get about BGN 700 net. I’m barely making ends meet with this ridiculous remuneration. Why are we being charged for the rejected item? I don’t agree with that. This month we were supposed to get paid on the 18th, they haven’t paid us yet. Even yesterday I asked my colleague for money because I have nothing to eat. Employers bully us. This is already super impudent,” complains Svetlana.

She appealed to the Labor Inspectorate to intervene and protect the rights of employees in the Bolero store chains.

The manager of the “Bolero” store in g. k. “Slaveykov” Silvia Ivanova, however, denied that a similar procedure was introduced to collect funds to cover the rejected goods in the store.

“What kind of collection? I have nothing to do with salaries, nor with the distribution of salaries, with anything. There is no such practice in the store,” said Silvia Ivanova to our reporter, but did not even ask where Flagman.bg got this information.

We tried to contact Mrs. Penka Keremedchieva, who runs the eponymous chain of hypermarkets in Burgas, but her phone is switched off.

Who is wrong and who is right in the information submitted to our media – let the Labor Inspectorate clarify.
