The prime minister urged everyone to get vaccinated

Hospitals and the medical system are actively preparing for the worsening epidemic situation. More than 35 thousand beds are almost 100% supplied with oxygen.

The Ministry of Health is preparing about 90 thousand beds in hospitals for patients with coronavirus. Non-infectious hospitals are planned to be used in three stages, depending on the growth dynamics of the infected. This was stated by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.

“We are actively preparing hospitals and our medical system (for a worsening epidemic situation, – ed.). There are three waves of medical institutions – about 90 thousand beds for patients with coronavirus. The first wave of hospitals is more than 35 thousand beds, which are almost 100% supplied with oxygen “, – said the prime minister, speaking in the Verkhovna Rada during the hour of questions to the government.

He added that doctors have developed and effective treatment protocols, and innovative medicines for COVID patients have arrived in the country.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers stressed that in Ukraine there is a daily increase in cases of coronavirus and hospitalized. Moreover, more than 98% of those admitted to hospitals are not vaccinated.

The prime minister added that vaccination is the only way to overcome the epidemic.

“In the coming months, we expect weekly deliveries of almost half a million doses of Pfizer vaccine. In addition, we have a well-established infrastructure for its distribution and provision of the cold chain,” said Denis Shmygal.

He also noted that today in Ukraine there are more than 10 million doses of vaccines and called on all Ukrainians, including people’s deputies, to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, in Ukraine already more than nine thousand new COVID cases… In total, 2,379,483 people have fallen ill since the beginning of the pandemic.

On the eve of the head of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko said, how to avoid quarantine. If Ukrainians are vaccinated before the New Year, then in the spring the country will not face quarantine restrictions, the minister said.
