Shin Tae-yong’s Reason for Calling 8 New Players in the Indonesian National Team All

KOMPAS.com – Coach Indonesian National team, Shin Tae-yong, calling eight new names from 27 players prepared for the friendly match against Timor Leste.

Indonesian National team will have friendly parties in slots FIFA Matchday against Timor Leste at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali.

The Garuda squad is scheduled to compete twice with Timor Leste on 27 and 30 January 2022.

Shin Tae-yong has called eight new names to defend the Indonesian national team. They are part of Garuda on this month’s FIFA Matchday.

The eight names of the new choice STY they are Adi Satrio (Persik Kediri), Achmad Figo (Arema FC), Sani Rizky Fauzi (Bhayangkara FC), Marselino Ferdinan (Persebaya Surabaya).

Then, there are Terens Puhiri (Borneo FC), M Rafli (Arema FC), Ronaldo Kwateh (Madura United), and Bayu Fiqri (Persib Bandung).

The majority of them are young players who were also called up by STY to prepare for the U23 Indonesia national team in the 2022 AFF U23 Cup in February.

Regarding the reasons for choosing these names, STY has stated the reasons.

Shin Tae-yong revealed that the summoning of the eight players was purely from his monitoring in the 2021-2022 League 1.

Before announcing the names of the 27 players, Shin Tae-yong had directly monitored the Liga 1 match in Bali.

He and the coaches of the Indonesian national team came to the stadium to assess each player’s game in the Liga 1 club.

“So the new players are the results I monitored in League 1,” said Shin Tae-yong as reported by BolaSport.com.

“It seems (in my opinion) there are advantages,” said the South Korean coach.

Shin Tae-yong hopes that the new players can repay the trust that has been given to him.

In the match against Timor Leste later, the eight new players are expected to prove their eligibility to defend the Indonesian national team.

“Are these new players able to do what they want? It will be answered in the match,” said Shin Tae-yong.

“These young players are indeed being prepared for the 2022 AFF U23 Cup as well,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Sani Rizki Fauzi is very enthusiastic about rejoining the Indonesian national team.

He last participated in the Indonesian national team training camp in July 2020.

“First of all, Alhamdulillah, I am grateful to be called to the Senior National Team again,” said Sani.

“I want to prove to coach Shin Tae-yong that he can give his best,” he said.
