Shin Tae-yong wants Elkan Baggott to join the U-19 National Team TC in Croatia

Jakarta

U-19 Indonesian national team planned to hold a training camp in Croatia. Coach Shin Tae-yong want Elkan Baggott can join in.

Elkan had attended the U-19 national team training camp in Jakarta. He did not follow the training agenda until the end because PSSI only asked permission from Ipswich Town until August 8.

Shin still seems to want to see Elkan’s determination to be able to dissolve in the team. The South Korean coach then hopes PSSI can again ask permission from Ipswich so that Elkan can come to Croatia.

“I have asked Indra Sjafri (PSSI technical director) for help, for PSSI to send a letter to the Elkan club. We hope that Elkan can follow TC in Croatia,” said Shin.

The plan is for the young Garuda squad to depart for Croatia at the end of August 2020. While in that country the U-19 national team will not only train, but also participate in tournaments.

The U-19 national team training camp in Jakarta is still ongoing. The coaching team has repatriated 11 players from the 46 names called up.

The repatriation of players will be carried out again ahead of departure to Croatia. Shin plans to only bring 30 players.

Since the return of 11 players, PSSI has called in one more player. Is Jack Brown, a player who plays for Lincoln City. He had previously attended a training camp with the U-19 national team in Cikarang in early 2020.

This series of training camps is part of the preparation of the U-19 national team for the 2020 U-19 Asian Cup. The U-19 national team will compete in Uzbekistan, joined in Group A with hosts Uzbekistan, Cambodia and Iran.
