KOMPAS.com – International trial FIFA Matchday Indonesian National team oppose East Timor confirmed to have been postponed. Despite being disappointed, coach Shin Tae-yong can understand.
Ideally, the Indonesian national team match which will be held on the Island of the Gods will be held on January 24 and 27.
However, the schedule was later changed to January 27 and 30, 2022.
Through an official statement, PSSI revealed that the postponement of this schedule was because the Timor Leste national team players had to undergo a four-day quarantine before being able to fly to Bali.
The Timor Leste team itself arrived in Jakarta on Thursday (20/1/2021).

Coach Shin Tae-yong regretted this schedule change. Because, according to him, an important match like this should not be postponed suddenly.
However, he understands because this resignation is related to the safety factor.
“Honestly there is a problem with the current pandemic, it looks like something has changed. The schedule for the national team must be clearer and there will be no changes,” said the South Korean coach to the media including Kompas.com on the sidelines of the national team practice at Gelora Samudra, Friday (21/1/2021) afternoon.
“But, because of the pandemic, like it or not, changes like this have to happen,” he added.
This is the second time that the FIFA Matchday schedule for the January 2022 slot has changed. The initial plan was that Indonesia would undergo a test match against Bangladesh.
However, the match was canceled because many Bangladeshi players had not received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Thus, they are not allowed to enter in accordance with the Indonesian government’s policy regarding foreign nationals (WNA) who wish to enter.
On the other hand, the postponement of this schedule provides its own wisdom for the Garuda squad. They will have more time to prepare for the test match later.
The list of 27 players has been released since Tuesday (18/1/2022) and the new team conducted their first training on Thursday (20/1/2022).
Yesterday’s inaugural exercise was focused on recovering the condition of the players, while Friday (21/1/2022) afternoon was the second day for the national team to carry out collective training with a core training program.
