Michele Boudreau Deegan, by profession psychotherapist, had 55 years old and lived with hers seven-year-old daughters in Sudden Valley, Washington state. To find out what happened was a neighbor of the woman, who alerted the police but by the arrival of the agents it was too late for both Michele and for the children, whose identity has remained unknown by decision of the investigators. The woman was in full legal battle with her ex for the custody of the girls and some people close to her admitted that Michele had been suffering from serious psychological problems for some time: “She loved her girls so much, but had mental problems in recent times . In just a few months she found herself facing a divorce, serious financial problems and was afraid of losing her children. She was not a bad person, she truly loved her children, she had never mistreated them and wanted to protect them, but she was a mentally ill woman and terrified of losing her twins. ” Neighbors, on the other hand, told police: “There was no sign of what finally happened, other than the fact that the girls saw very little outside the house.”
