## Shawn Michaels to Undergo Knee Replacement Surgery
WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels has announced he will undergo surgery to replace both knees within the next month. The revelation came during an appearance on the Nightcap podcast, where Michaels detailed the cumulative toll of a decades-long wrestling career.
Michaels, a four-time WWE Champion and two-time Royal Rumble winner, has already undergone notable surgeries, including a spinal fusion and shoulder replacement. Despite the physical demands and resulting injuries, michaels expressed no regrets, stating, “I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. I knew that going in…I knew the price that was going to come with it.”
The upcoming knee replacements mark the latest chapter in Michaels’ post-in-ring career. While he briefly returned to competition in 2018 for a tag team match, he now focuses on talent progress and creative oversight as Senior VP of NXT within WWE. He finds fulfillment in mentoring the next generation of performers, explaining, “I’m able now to still get that same charge…when we’re sitting there and I’m telling a story to these talents…it’s that feeling where you watch the joy in that talent’s heart when they’re finally getting it.”
“The Heartbreak Kid” acknowledged he doesn’t miss the rigors of travel or the physical strain of wrestling, finding comparable satisfaction in his current role shaping the future of WWE. Michaels stated, “The physical aspect I don’t miss, the travel I don’t miss.”
