Four main themes take up the national campaign for Sexual Health Week from June 5 to 9, 2023, contraception, consent, dysfunctions and the prevention of STIs (sexually transmitted infections) because “ sexual health is also that! according to this year’s slogan.
A real public health issue
Sexual health should enable a state of physical, emotional, mental and social well-being
associated with sexuality. In order to achieve and maintain sexual health, sexual rights of all persons must be respected, protected and ensured.
In the Centre-Val de Loire region, professionals and associations, under the coordination of the COREVIH (Regional COordination for the fight against the Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and supported by theARS (Regional Health Agency), are mobilizing.
Many highlights in the Centre-Val de Loire region
Many highlights are planned throughout this week with more than 150 stocks on the region for the general public but also for the most vulnerable groups.
The regional communication and awareness campaign, relaying the national Public Health France campaign, aims to make everyone feel free to talk about their sexual health and know where to find resources.
Contraception, to each his own!
Sexual health implies that people can have a fulfilling sex life and the freedom to decide whether or not to conceive children, if they wish, out of a third of pregnancies are unplanned in France. The contraceptive tools adapt according to the moment, the desires and the needs: contraception, to each his own.

Since January 1, 2023emergency contraception is available in pharmacies, free of charge and without a prescription, for all people, minors and adults, regardless of the medication used.
Consent, a yes can become a no during intercourse
More than one out of two women declares having had the experience with one or more partners of non-consensual penetrative sex. Everyone must understand that a yes can become a no even during intercourse. Understanding the challenges of communication in one’s relationships, respect for others, his, her and his partners and oneself is essential for sexual and relational fulfillment.
Sexual dysfunctions, talk about it
THE female sexual dysfunctions the most common are painful intercourse 16%, the orgasm disorders 36%, the desire disorders 35 %.
