A terrible drama happened Friday evening near the Quai de l ‘Industrie in Anderlecht. Young Adil lost his life after a chase with the police. Following his death, the situation was extremely tense throughout the night: no less than four arson attacks took place. The fire was extinguished at the tanker of a truck, luckily not filled with flammable liquid, at around 2:10 a.m. in Anderlecht.

In the morning of Saturday, a crisis meeting was held between the local authorities and the police – who expressed their condolences to the family – in order to best manage possible new tensions during the day.

Young Adil’s uncle asked to stop the confrontations and to respect the family’s grief and grief. “I ask you to stop breaking everything please, we are not well, we are already in mourning, headache,” he said.

Twenty-five arrests
Police in the Brussels-South zone said on Saturday around 6 p.m. that the situation was currently under control concerning the riots that had broken out in different places in Anderlecht. Area corps chief Patrick Evenepoel said the operation could still continue until late in the evening on Saturday or until Sunday morning. He also said that twenty-five people have been arrested, but it has not yet been determined whether the arrests will be judicial or administrative. Police also note that one person was injured and one policewoman became unwell during the operations.
