Since the allegations of sexual harassment and gender discrimination at Activision Blizzard first appeared in late July, a number of top people have left the company. This week, another couple disappears, more specifically the chief producer of Overwatch and the company’s chief legal officer.
According to Bloomberg Chacko Sonny, who has been central in the work on both Overwatch and Overwatch 2, has told his colleagues that he will leave on Friday. Exactly why he chooses to retire now did not come from internal emails, but Blizzard has confirmed that Sonny is finished in the producer role he has had since 2018.
Despite all the drama, the developer promises that Overwatch 2 is still well on its way.
– The talented Overwatch team is making great progress on Overwatch 2, and thanks to their efforts, the game is in the final production phase. We will share more from the Overwatch League finals later this month, Blizzard said in a statement Polygon.
