Seventy tips in cold case research into the murder of Helmond’s girl

The police received seventy tips about the murder of 8-year-old Manon Seijkens from Helmond. The police brought in last weekend new details hoping to resolve the matter after 25 years.

Thirty tips were already received on Monday. Many came from people who thought about what might have happened, he said Broadcasting Brabant. The police emphasize that every little bit of information can lead to the solution. “We therefore examine every tip.”

The girl did not come home on August 10, 1995. Half a year later, on February 17, 1996, she was found dead in the bushes, not far from her childhood home in Helmond. She had been sexually assaulted and killed. There is no trace of the perpetrator.

What exactly happened after her missing is not clear. Previously, three men have been arrested, one of whom has been convicted. He was acquitted on appeal.
