NEW YORK – A New York City Fire Department (FDNY) truck struck a 7-year-old boy on a Staten Island street Saturday morning, police and officials said. Firemen.
Emergency units responded to Broad Street Y Gordon Street, around 7:20 am Saturday, for a report of a pedestrian hit on the highway.
FDNY personnel in the truck provided immediate assistance to the 7-year-old boy before paramedics took him to the University of Richmond Medical Center, police officials said. The minor was in critical condition when he was transported.
According to a police source, the boy was run over after hitting the road from behind a parked bus. Authorities believe that neither the truck driver nor the boy saw each other.
It is unknown if the child was accompanied by an adult.
This is a case under investigation.
