These are 450 students in the bachelor’s program in economics and administration at Høgskulen on Western Norway’s campus Bergen, writes Bergens Tidende.
The sponsor board has now canceled the rest of the sponsor week. There were three joint events left that are now being canceled.
Seven students
A total of seven students in the program are infected with the coronavirus, among them sponsors and sponsor children from the same one and the same sponsor group. Other members of the sponsor group will be tested today.
– The college is open to students, and we will not deny admission. But anyone with symptoms should stay home. And we have asked everyone to be extra careful because they may have been at a lecture with some of the infected. We do not know, says head of department Tom Skauge.
Skauge emphasizes that he appreciates that the students themselves have reported. The students have been told to have a low threshold for testing.
Twelve newly infected
In addition to the seven from the sponsor group, there are five suspected new infections where two have an unknown route of infection, one is close contact, one with import infection and one where the infection detection work is currently ongoing, informs Bergen municipality.
Since Thursday, 14 new cases of infection have been registered in the municipality. Of these, twelve are newly infected and two have probably been infected before.
All those infected are in isolation, and all close contacts are quarantined. The close contacts are followed up by the Infection Control Office and tested quickly.
