Seven new corona infections in Groningen

In the province of Groningen, seven people have been tested positive for the corona virus in the past 24 hours. This is evident from data from the corona dashboard of the national government.

According to the national government, 1.2 people per 100,000 inhabitants were tested positive for the virus on Sunday. The value of 1.2 was also achieved on Friday and Saturday. The figures are not confirmed by the GGD because they do not provide updates to the figures during the weekend. Since the outbreak of the coronavirus in March, the virus has now been found in 454 people in Groningen.

Open data from the RIVM shows that most infections occur in the municipality of Groningen. In the past two weeks, there are 40 cases. In the past four days this is 8.2 per 100,000 inhabitants, since July 25 at 17.2 per 100,000. In the municipality of Midden-Groningen, 6 infections were found in the past two weeks, in Westerkwartier 1, Het Hogeland 3, Delfzijl 1, Oldambt 1 and Westerwolde 1. The counters are at 0 in the other municipalities.

Nationally, most infections are found in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Gouda and Bergen op Zoom. In recent days, Deventer and Groningen have also turned up negatively in the rankings with regard to the number of infections.
