Seven injured by storm at major French rock festival | Abroad

Due to the strong wind and rain, a tent collapsed at the entrance of the festival site just after the opening of the festival. Seven people were injured as a result. One of them was taken to hospital, said the prefect of the Territoire de Belfort, Raphaël Sodini, who came to check on the spot. The storm also caused significant damage to the festival site and the nearby campsite.

The festival is planned to continue, “but it will not be possible to open the site on Friday due to the damage,” says organizer Matthieu Pigasse. Tickets for Thursday and Friday will be refunded.

On Thursday, the French DJ duo Bob Sinclar and Pedro Winter and the Belgian star Stromae were on the program. On Friday, among others, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Diplo would perform.
