Seven-day incidence in Berlin at just under 200 – Berlin.de

In Berlin, the so-called seven-day incidence of new infections with the corona virus has almost reached the 200 mark again.

Will freedom of movement be restricted for Berlin?

The Senate had announced that, with such high numbers of infections, it would check whether a new rule to restrict freedom of movement should also apply to the capital, as in Brandenburg. 340 new corona cases were reported on Sunday. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of people infected has increased to 106,197. Around 86,000 people are considered recovered and around 20,000 are currently infected.

Usually fewer new infections reported on weekends

However, fewer new infections are usually recorded or reported on the weekend, so the numbers are usually too low. Several districts did not forward any figures. The late registrations will come in the following days.

Corona traffic light stays on double red

5 new deaths were reported. This means that 1565 people have died in the capital since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. The situation remains tense when the intensive care beds are occupied by Covid patients. The occupancy rate was around 33 percent. The Senate’s Corona traffic light continues to show red twice.
