Interns of Medicine, Nutrition and Nursing of the Ministry of Health (SESA) presented research papers under the model of Community Social Service with a focus on Family Medicine.
Pablo Méndez Hernández, Head of the SESA Office of Health Research, explained that the works present priority research lines for dependence such as Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), chronic diseases, prevention of maternal mortality, lifestyles and their relationship with some conditions.
In total more than 60 interns in social service and 21 interns of Nutrition and Nursing presented their research on issues such as: Prevalence and risk factors associated with chronic kidney disease: Pilot study and state study; Manual of Procedures in the study of Renal Screening and Prevalence and Risk Factors for Breast Cancer in Tlaxcala Women; In addition, 20 posters on public health were exhibited.
Méndez Hernández explained that, as of 2019, all medical social service positions are managed under this model, in addition to the Multidisciplinary Social Service, where nursing and nutrition fellows participated.
It should be noted that these research works continually improve the health sector in the entity and strengthen patient care.
In this way, SESA encourages research as an important part in the training of personnel, so that interns know and analyze the reality to flex on proposals to overcome the challenges of the sector.
