She and her queen were from the day of Her Majesty’s first reign and were almost always there, even when the Queen went on official occasions and abroad.
Duchess Anna started working for the Queen in 1953 and her first position at the court was the monarch’s personal assistant. She later became the Duchess and over the years became Elizabeth II’s trusted girlfriend.
Anna was married to the Duke of Grafton Hugh Fitcroyo and in the time of their marriage, five children came into the world. Queen Elizabeth II is the godmother of Anna and Hugh’s second daughter. The baptism took place in 1954.
Queen Elizabeth II was really shocked to learn of Anna’s death last weekend. As you know, this is not an easy time for her. Both because the 95-year-old queen herself has had health problems that have led her to take long-term rest and peace of mind, and she is known to be saddened by the fact that her grandson Prince Harry with his wife Meganu and both children, however, will not be able to cancel for Britain at Christmas.
This will be the first Christmas at Sandringham House, where the Queen traditionally welcomes guests she will be without her beloved husband. Prince Philip, who went to eternity this spring without waiting for his 100th birthday.
Despite everything that happened, the queen promises that there will be a traditional Christmas at Sandringham’s house and she is waiting for her next ones – her grandson Prince William, his wife Keitu and their three children, and their eldest son Prince Charles and his wife kamillu, as well as other family members.
