The minor suffered serious head and body injuries. and was rushed to Brookdale University Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition Saturday. The ice cream truck driver, identified as Juan Remigio, 58, a resident of the Bronx, remained at the scene and was taken into custody after police determined that driving with a suspended license.
The ice cream truck was heading south on Hendrix St. and stopped on Sutter Ave. It came through the intersection just as the boy was pedaling into the intersection in a marked crosswalk, police said.
