Series of concerts in Castellón to support the candidacy for Intangible Heritage of UNESCO of musical societies

The Generalitat Valenciana has offered its support to the Musical Societies of the Valencian Community are declared Intangible Heritage of Unesco, through the celebration of a series of concerts, which will be held in all the regions of the Valencian Community, in commemoration of October 9th.

This has been announced by the general director of Institutional Promotion, Fernanda Escribano, who has highlighted the will of the Consell to serve as support and impulse so that musical societies receive recognition from the international organization and therefore explained that the Presidency will contribute to spreading the word cultural legacy of musical groups with the organization of this series of concerts, which will take place between September 15 and 30.

In this sense, he has reported that the Generalitat and the Society of Musical Federations of the Valencian Community are collaborating so that musical societies “They travel throughout the Valencian Community, throughout all the regions, with the aim of highlighting our music bands, as well as showing support for the candidacy of the FSMCV.”

This is not the first initiative with which the Generalitat contributes to disseminate the cultural heritage of musical groups. Last May, the Presidency announced the transfer to the FSMCV of the exhibition ‘Les nostres compositores’ so that they could be exhibited in different municipalities of the Region. It is an exhibition with illustrations by Carla Fuentes, which, together with the book with the same title and texts by Raquel Lacruz, are part of the Generalitat’s outreach commitment to rescue from oblivion the role of women in the history of Valencian musical composition.

For her part, the president of the FSMCV, Daniela González, explained that this initiative is part of the Terra de Música project promoted by the FSMCV and the Presidency. The objective, according to González, is “Make visible all the intangible, cultural, social and educational heritage of the entire group that is part of the Federation of Musical Society of the Valencian Community”.

The president also thanked the Council for the contribution to promote this candidacy, as well as the institutional support that the musical societies by the Generalitat.

He also recalled that the FSMCV represents 550 societies, made up of more than 1,100 music bands, with more than 200 orchestras and almost 200,000 members and that also has a network of 600 study centers spread throughout the Valencian Community, with more than 43,000 musicians and more than 60,000 students.

Concerts

On September 18 the concerts will be held in Catí (Unió Musical Catinenca), Lucena del Cid (Unión Musical Llucenenca), Peñíscola (Musical Association “Virgen de la Ermitana”), Elda (Eldense music-cultural association “Santa Cecilia”) , Segorbe (Segorbe Musical Society) and Algimia (Algimia Musical Union).

On September 19 they will be held in La Vila Joiosa (Ateneu Musical), Llíria (Unió Musical de Llíria), Borriana (Agrupació Filharmònica Borrianenca) and Catarroja (Societat “Unió Musical” de Catarroja).

On September 24 they will be held in Burjassot (Agrupación Musical “Los Silos”), Elche (Societat Musical L’Altet), Alcoi (Societat Unió Musical d’Alcoi) and Sueca (Unión Musical de Sueca).

On September 25 they will take place in Valencia (Gayano Lluch Musical Group), Ademuz (Ademuz Musical Society), Chelva (Santa Cecilia de Chelva Musical Society), Llanera de Ranes (Llanera de Ranes Musical Union), Villena (“Ruperto Musical Society Chapí ”), Vinaròs (“ La Alianza ”Musical Society), Enguera (Santa Cecilia Musical Union), Gandia (“ San Francesc de Borja ”Artistic Musical Union), Requena (Santa Cecilia Musical Society), Ayora (Ayorense Musical Society), Carcaixent (Societat Musical i Recreativa Lira i Casino Carcaixentí) and San Vicente del Raspeig (Sociedad Musical La Esperanza).

Finally, on September 26 the concerts will be held in Denia (Agrupació Artística Musical de Denia), Orihuela (Asociación Cultural Amigos de la Música y la Danza), L’Alcora (Agrupación Musical L’Alcalatén), Chiva (Sociedad Musical La Artística ”), Ontinyent (Musical Artistic Union), Albocàsser (Santa Cecilia Musical Association) and Torrent (Musical Union).
