Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić resigned as head of the Serbian Progressive Party on May 27.
He made the corresponding statement at the congress of the political force, after a series of mass protests held in the country, reports N1 .
Vučić proposed to elect Serbian Minister of Defense Milos Vučević as the new leader of the party. The congress supported Vučić’s proposal and Vučević became the new chairman of the political force, added N1 .

According to the post RTS , the protesters also demanded the resignation of the government, but Vucic did not agree to this. Vucevic, after being elected party leader, said he was ready to discuss holding early parliamentary elections, but opposed the appointment of a “transitional government” in the country.
