Poupoupidou! After a 2021 edition in digitized version to see from our sofas, the Strasbourg Burlesque Festival gives us an appointment again! From Thursday February 10 to Sunday February 13, he takes over Espace K with feathers and taffeta for a weekend of glamor and humour, celebration and glitter. What a perfect way to warm up for Valentine’s Day.
In 2021, we presented it to you for its confined version (health crisis obliges)… But this year, the Strasbourg Burlesque Festival is coming out of the screens in which it took refuge last year to make a comeback with great fanfare on stage! On the program for this 4th edition: three evenings of shows (Thursday 10, Friday 11 and Saturday 12 February), animated by the incandescent Petula Goldfever, mistress of ceremonies and internationally acclaimed burlesque stripper. And on Sunday the 13th, a day dedicated to workshops, for those who would like to make their baptism of froufrou.
On the bill: a competition and guests from around the world
Thursday evening, to launch the festivities, in the first part will be organized a competition to designate the “Winner of the Festival”, with a Jury Prize and Public Prize. We will meet some Strasbourg women there, such as The Midnight Sisters, “an esoteric burlesque sorority”. In the second part, a second parade of numbers including that of guest of honour: Chris Oh!, award-winning burlesque artist, dancer and choreographer from New Zealand.
As for Friday and Saturday, the poster will be international with guests from all over the world. From France and Europe, but also from the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Australia… Unique and original performances, like the wide variety of numbers and styles that can be found in burlesque stripping.
To punctuate each evening, before/after the shows, or during intermission, the public can meet the artists, enjoy musical entertainment and a crémant bar. And to turn yourself into a pin-up, why not stop at one of the stands at the Espace K curiosities fair… Like Yokko Chérie, to shop for fabulous nippies, real little gems to adorn your neckline. …What to put glitter in his life.
