Gulf countries, and the Arab world have sent interplanetary spacecraft to Mars. The probe entered Mars orbit in February. Now the probe is sending data about the Martian atmosphere and climate.

The Rashid lunar explorer will be designed entirely by Emirati. UEA originally intended to send it into space in 2024 to send explorers to the moon by 2022.

The Japanese company ispace, founded in 2010, aims to provide commercial transportation to the moon with a broader mission to incorporate the moon into the earth’s economy.

Launch in 2022 will be the first such ispace mission and will use Elon Musk’s SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, which will be launched from Florida.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC) Dubai will build the Rashid moon explorer. The rover will remain on the moon after “data collection is complete,” said Emirates Moon Mission manager Hamad al-Marzooqi.

The SpaceX rocket will send an ispace lander into lunar orbit. The lander will propel itself to the surface of the moon and rover UEA will then emerge from the lander and go off to explore, said Ispace Founder and CEO Takeshi Hakamada.
