Senator Paloma Valencia appointed in National Peace Council – Political Parties – Politics

A great controversy was generated in the last hours by the appointment of the senator of the Paloma Valencia Democratic Center as a member of the National Peace Council.

This body is an instance that puts the State in dialogue to build a culture that promotes the policy of peace, reconciliation and coexistence in the country in the post-conflict stage.

Paloma Valencia, senator of the Democratic Center, Mauricio Medina Castro, deputy of the Cauca Assembly, and Wilmar Triana, mayor of Chiquinquirá, are the three representatives of the State in the Committee. Meanwhile, Francia Márquez, Monsignor Héctor Fabio Henao, Yolanda Perea Mosquera, Esther María Gallego, Gerardo Castrillón, Deisy Aparicio and Marylen Serna, for a total of seven people, will be the voices of civil society.

Likewise, it must create a dissemination program of the Final Agreement, at all levels of public and private education.

The appointment of Valencia generated a stir, as the uribismo congresswoman has repeatedly insisted on promoting reforms to the Special Jurisdiction for Peace.
