The incidence rate of Covid-19 in Latvia is 351. Last week, the rate was 398.1.

Estonia’s cumulative indicator, on the other hand, decreased from 1,397.1 to 1,007.3. However, it is still the third highest morbidity rate in Europe. Meanwhile, Lithuania’s indicator has increased from 223.5 to 389.1.

The highest cumulative rates are in San Marino (1216.1) and Hungary (1117.9)

CONTEXT:

During the Covid-19 outbreak in the spring of 2020, an emergency situation was declared in Latvia to control the new coronavirus. The situation was stable in the summer, but the morbidity at the end of September fast increased. The government re-established the state of emergency in November, but as the incidence of Covid-19 did not decrease, the state of emergency was extended until April 6, including the Easter holidays. After the end of the emergency in the country, several remain security measures.

According to the government traffic light principle easing of restrictions could be judged if morbidity rates fall to an average of 200 cases per 100,000 people in 14 days.
