Author Aline Lévesque, originally from Rawdon, has just launched a brand new edition of her Self-esteem survival guide.

In an interview with L’Action and back from Dallas where she spent the last year, the author and life coach says that this guide had its first version in 2000, when there was a real openness in society on the fact to talk about self-esteem and personal development.

Ms. Lévesque emphasizes that over the years, the book has always continued to circulate and in particular to be used in CEGEPs and universities.

“It was still in circulation and I was asked for a reissue. “

Thus, the author, who has already collaborated with the Mouvement Santé Mental Québec, took the opportunity to add to her guide a whole chapter that makes the link between mental health and self-esteem, a lexicon of reprogramming of the self-esteem and a chapter that discusses 21st century discoveries about the brain. The statistics have also all been updated.

Aline Lévesque mentions that her goal is always to popularize in order to make the content accessible to all clienteles. “I want to offer people concrete tools. “

A life mission

In her guide, Aline Lévesque shares her own journey to offer concrete strategies that she herself has tested and validated, in the troughs of the waves of burnout and which have led her to healthy self-esteem.

In the foreword to her book, she points out that it was during this period, when she was going through these difficulties, that she agreed to revise her false beliefs related to her personal worth and her right to success. .

Regarding the fact that she gives up so much about her personal life, Aline Lévesque mentions that she has always kept a diary, which she writes every day since her childhood and even more since her semi-retirement: “Write, for me, it’s like therapy, it serves as an outlet. “

Aline Lévesque also confides that talking about self-esteem has become, for her, a life mission. She was one of the pioneers in offering workshops to women on self-esteem and personal development. She also wanted to share her experience and knowledge by creating a Quebec group of stakeholders in the development of self-esteem. The writing of books such as the Survival Guide was therefore a logical continuation in order to reach as many people as possible.

Concretely

Inspired by guides to survival in nature, the author proposes to draw the parallel between an excursion and living his life according to a theoretical model easy to apply and which includes the complete assessment of his level of personal esteem through 11 evaluation exercises.

“The guide offers plenty of tools, it is not meant to be just theoretical. Readers can do a self-assessment and then consult the chapters that concern them, ”explains Aline Lévesque.

There is also a section for parents, so that they can help their children develop their own self-esteem.

It should be noted that an audio version of the guide is in progress and that an English translation has been produced. “It’s a dream for me that has just come true. »Aline Lévesque is also looking for distributors for the English version.

It is possible to watch the launch of his book which took place in Dallas on his Facebook page.

Aline Lévesque holds a master’s degree in business administration. She is always fascinated by the development of human potential, both emotional and mental. Speaker and author of several books, she has developed a specialty in adult self-esteem, as well as avant-garde techniques. Aline Lévesque also launched, a year ago, her book entitled Death and me who approached her childhood in a funeral home and offered her thoughts on mourning.
