In an accident to himself, a driver sustained moderate injuries on Wednesday evening (March 3, 2021) in Hagenbuch.
Shortly before 9:45 p.m., an 18-year-old learner driver drove his car from Hagenbuch, on Gelikerstrasse, in the direction of Gelikon.

In a right-hand bend, his vehicle ran into the left-hand lane for reasons unknown until now and collided with a bridge railing there.
In this accident, the handlebars sustained moderate injuries. After the initial on-site care, he was driven to a hospital in an ambulance from the Winterthur Cantonal Hospital. His companion was unharmed.
The exact cause of the accident is currently unknown. It is being investigated by the Zurich canton police in collaboration with the Winterthur / Unterland public prosecutor’s office.
Because of this accident, the affected section of Gerlikerstrasse had to be closed to traffic for about two hours. The Eulachtal fire brigade set up a diversion.
