Security tightens when Putin receives Xi

(PLO) – Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow and had a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On March 20, Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Russia, starting a three-day working visit, according to radio. RT.

Speaking at Vnukovo airport, Mr. Xi expressed: “I am very pleased to once again come to Russia – our friendly neighbour, and pay a state visit to the Russian Federation at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Russia. Vladimir Putin”.

Mr. Xi also extended warm greetings and best wishes to the Russian government and people and said that ten years ago was his first visit to Russia as President of China. Since then, he together with President Putin “opened a new chapter in the comprehensive development of China-Russia relations”.

Xi then had a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin.

Speaking during informal talks, Putin expressed admiration for China’s rapid development. Putin also said that he had respectfully considered China’s peace proposals on Ukraine.

Xi also expressed that thanks to Mr. Putin’s good leadership, Russia has made remarkable progress in achieving prosperity in recent years. He is confident that the Russian people will support these efforts of Mr. Putin.

During the meeting, the leaders called each other “close friends”.
