Sean Connery’s iconic pistol in Bond movie Dr. No will be auctioned | NOW

The iconic pistol Sean Connery posed with in the first James Bond movie Dr. No goes up for auction at auction in the United States.

Part of one of the film franchise’s best-known images, the semi-automatic Walther PP pistol is expected to fetch between $ 150,000 and $ 200,000 (converted between $ 125,000 and $ 170,000). The pistol will go up for auction at Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills on December 3.

The deactivated gun was used by Connery in 1962 during his debut as Bond in Dr. No. “The silhouette of 007 holding this weapon is the most iconic image of the James Bond franchise and one of the most recognizable references to pop culture of all time,” said Martin Nolan, director of Julien’s Auctions.

Connery passed away last month at the age of ninety. The Scottish actor was best known as Bond’s first interpreter. He played the secret agent in seven movies.

The gun is one of 500 Hollywood memorabilia to be auctioned. Also the helmet Tom Cruise wore in Top Gun and the first dress Michelle Obama wore as the American first lady will go under the hammer.
