As the head of state noted, he expects the future envoy to deal with issues of combating terrorism, which remain important in the North Caucasus Federal District.

In response, Chaika assured the president that all the tasks set would be completed, and emphasized that he already had certain plans.

“I think that all national projects will be implemented on the territory of the North Caucasus Federal District. I am convinced that we will raise the standard of living of citizens,” he added.

Putin thanked the ex-Prosecutor General for his work in this post and noted that he expects continuity in the work of the department.

Putin asked the candidate for the post of Attorney General Igor Krasnov to pay attention to the fight against corruption and monitoring the observance of social rights of citizens.

The President recalled that he had turned to the State Duma with a proposal to make the Prosecutor General more centralized, and noted that the department’s task was to work to ensure that laws were uniformly understood and applied throughout the country.
