Scientists have named superfood that increases the likelihood of avoiding infection with coronavirus

Doctors recommend taking vitamin D, which supports the immune system, not only in the midst of a pandemic. Scientists have found that with a lack of this vitamin, viruses, once in the body, become more aggressive. Most vitamin D is found in the liver of cod and pollock. Reported by “Russian newspaper”.

According to the Director General of the National Medical Research Center. V.A. Almazov of the Ministry of Health of Russia and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Evgeny Shlyakhto, scientists found vitamin D deficiency in 71.3% of people with COVID-19, including 36.3% – a severe deficiency.

“Vitamin D deficiency is an important predictor of the unfavorable development of the disease – both moderate and severe diseases,” Shlyakhto said.

At the same time, it is noted that the consumption of cod and pollock liver significantly increases the saturation of the body with vitamin D.

“We can say that the liver of cod and pollock is a superfood, the use of which is especially useful in the current conditions. The greatest benefit is the products produced directly on the ship from fresh raw materials. The liver during ship processing preserves useful vitamins and microelements, since the processing time of fish is minimal. and no oxidation occurs. When choosing in a store, such canned food has a special marking “, – said the President of the All-Russian Association of Fishery Industries (VARPE) German Zverev.

According to scientists, the vitamin deficiency can be replenished in the form of tablets or drops. Also, there are many foods high in vitamin D, such as marine fish oil, egg yolk, and dairy products.
