Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns win CEFL Cup against Parma – SWR Aktuell

The first CEFL bowl final in Schwäbisch Hall ended with a 42:17 for the Unicorns. In doing so, they defended the most coveted American football title in Europe.

At the end of the CEFL bowl final (Central European Football League) on Saturday, the new champions were called like the old ones: Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns. With a strong 42:17 victory, Schwäbisch Hall were able to prevail against the Italians from Parma. Although the game started with a 7-0 deficit for the German team.

“You can’t get more in Europe”

According to Axel Streich, spokesman for the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns, the CEFL Bowl final cannot be compared with the dimensions of the Super Bowl in the USA. “Maybe a mini-mini-mini Super Bowl,” he jokes. Nevertheless, it is the most coveted and biggest title that you can get in the football world of Europe.

Good mood with the best weather

The Super Bowl, the big brother so to speak, is followed by thousands upon thousands of people worldwide. In Schwäbisch Hall, in the Optima Sportpark, around 2,400 football fans came to the CEFL bowl final in the best weather on Saturday. The tension was high even beforehand, reports Streich. The successful title defense was of course duly celebrated.
