Schroeder sues over Navalny, who called him “Putin’s errand boy”

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder intends to file a lawsuit against Bild, which posted an interview with Alexei Navalny. The reason for the discontent of the retired politician was the fact that a statement by the Russian oppositionist concerning him was published in the press.

Navalny, in an interview with the tabloid, called Schroeder “Vladimir Putin’s errand boy.” He also claimed that the Russian leader was allegedly transferring secret payments to his friend in Germany, while emphasizing that he had no evidence.

Schroeder called these allegations deliberately false, and since the journalists spread this information without his comments, he was forced to resort to the help of lawyers. reports DW.
