Kiel (dpa / lno) – The education and science union has called for better protection of teachers in Schleswig-Holstein from the corona virus in view of the increased number of infections. “The state government must not just let those affected down,” said state chairwoman Astrid Henke on Wednesday. If you want to keep daycare centers and schools open as long as possible, you must at least adequately protect the educational staff from infection.
Henke asked the Ministry of Education to switch to shift work within seven days if the incidence value was more than 50 infections. Because at least six districts or urban districts have already reached this value, it is “high time to act”.
According to the union, teachers and educators should also receive FFP2 protective masks. Employees with previous illnesses must be able to do their work without direct contact with children and young people. In order to meet the hygiene requirements, especially in daycare centers, more cleaning staff are needed.
