Due to the novel coronavirus mutations, the question arises whether schools should be temporarily closed again in Switzerland. So far, the authorities have refrained from doing so, and schools will start normally in 2021, with a few exceptions: In Nidwalden and Solothurn, for example, the holidays for the elementary school were extended until January 6th. And in the canton of Zurich, apprentices and high school students have to complete an advanced week of distance learning.
Yvonne Ledermann hopes that it will stay that way and that there will be no school shutdown like in spring. She is a primary school teacher and offers tutoring and preparatory courses for high school through her Winterthur company “Lerne Gerne GmbH”. Ledermann fears massive negative consequences if the schools should close again.
