A year ago, the Bulgarian-Macedonian commission stopped working at Skopje’s request with an excuse – the elections taking place there. We told them that we had all kinds of elections and we did not stop working, but they stopped, which is a clear indication that their part works under political dictate and management. This impression of ours is strengthened and proved by them. They work in line with their politicians, while the Bulgarian commission has met with the foreign minister only a few times, gives annual reports, but does not work under political dictates.
This was explained to bTV by Prof. Kiril Topalov, a member of the Bulgarian-Macedonian Commission on General History.
“We have to decide how to change textbooks for not to study hatred towards Bulgaria and to specify a general celebration of dates, which is not possible without discussing history. Our commission is on historical and educational issues, he added.
