In the book “The Battle of the Brothers. William, Harry and the Story of the Breakup of the Windsor Family,” writer Robert Lacey reveals that the problem of racism was already discussed during Meghan and Harry’s fairytale wedding. A biographer of the royal court examined the behavior of members of the royal family during a sermon on the “healing power of love” by the charismatic Bishop Michael Curry.
Curry was scheduled to speak for six minutes. However, succumbing to inspiration and departing from the text on the iPad that he waved in front of him, he spoke for fourteen. “What the f ** k, the idea to try so much new material right now!” Wrote one Twitter user. “I’m shocked by this preacher’s speech,” we read in the book.
The royal family and guests from the British elite were also supposed to make the impression of being stunned.

One of the key characters in this story is Duchess Kate. During the ceremony, the wife Prince William she was sitting next to a giggling Camilla. Duchess Kate was going to call her to order with… a look.

Among the members of the royal family, she listened with delight to the bishop’s sermon Princess Eugenia. The same cannot be said for Duchess Anna’s daughter, Zara Tindall.
All the cameras showed her open mouth, it seemed as if she was showing an almost physical suffering in this way. Later, Tindall explained this face with problems with the baby she had been carrying in her stomach for eight months, writes the royal biographer in the book.
Could the reactions of royal family members to the sermon of a charismatic bishop from the United States be called racist? Commentators’ opinions were divided at the time.
Some have argued that the mocking smirks and rolling eyes betrayed the superior prejudice of white rich men. Others, however, argued that they, too, would have laughed and rolled their eyes if such an excessively long sermon was given by an inspired white preacher, we read in The Battle of the Brothers.
