SBU handed over a large batch of weapons to the Ministry of Defense

The SBU handed over a large consignment of weapons seized during counterintelligence special operations for the needs of the Ministry of Defense. The press center informs about it. SBU.

The specified weapons served as material evidence was under arrest. The SBU prepared a corresponding petition, and the Ministry of Defense accepted military equipment on its balance sheet. This is the first such case in the history of Ukraine.

The SBU handed over to the Ministry of Defense weapons with a total weight of more than 500 tons:

  • weapons (grenade launchers);

  • ammunition (exchange and shots at grenade launchers);

  • explosives (TNT);

  • 36 5V27D missiles (part of the Pechora air defense missile system) and related equipment;

  • components for rifled firearms;

  • engines and components for aviation equipment (Mi-24 helicopters, Su and MiG aircraft);

  • components for armored vehicles (BMP, BRDM, armored personnel carriers, tanks), anti-aircraft missile systems and multiple launch rocket systems;

  • phosphoric and hydrochloric acids.

It is reported that the territory of Ukraine was used for the transit of military goods. For an unspecified purpose, they were accumulated on the territory of Ukraine as technical property of general consumption.

The SBU opened criminal proceedings on this fact. It was also established that there were no documents on the legal import and storage of military products.

It was previously reported that SBU counterintelligence officers exposed and detained in Kharkov a foreigner and a citizen of Ukraine who worked in the interests of the special services of one of the countries of East Asia.
