The counterintelligence service of the SBU in the Cherkasy region detained an agent of the military intelligence of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

“In order to fulfill the instructions of the Russian intelligence, the attacker tried to involve a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in illegal activities,” the secret service said.
Counterintelligence officers and SBU investigators documented the facts of the attacker’s collection of information, including with limited access, about the location of artillery depots in the region, their security regime, the list and amount of ammunition stored on them.
The detainee was informed of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 111 (high treason) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the issue of choosing a preventive measure is being decided.
