The parliament of Opfikon discussed the budget for the coming year on Monday evening. The proposal was accepted with 25 votes in favor to 8 against. Only the SVP wanted to reject the budget. A minus of 17.7 million francs is calculated with a total expenditure of just under 173 million francs (excluding depreciation). The tax rate remains at 94 percent.
In addition to the budget, Parliament also discussed a loan of 30.1 million francs for the new building of the Bubenholz school complex. On the basis of the ballot box in February 2022, the municipal council voted for the loan with 24 yes to 9 no votes. Of the parliamentary groups, only the SVP had spoken out against the project in the Council.
