São Paulo accepts proposal from Cerro Porteño to sell goalkeeper Jean | São Paulo

Hired from Bahia in 2018 by São Paulo for around R$9.8 million, the goalkeeper was in reserve on most occasions. At the end of 2019, he was accused and arrested for assaulting his ex-wife while on vacation in the US, and ended up on the sidelines.

In 2020, Jean defended Atlético-GO, adding 46 games and scoring six goals.

Due to the episode of aggression against his ex-wife, Jean lost space in the Brazilian market and had to try to rebuild his career abroad. At Cerro Porteño, the goalkeeper played 25 matches in 2021.

In this window, it will be São Paulo’s second sale. The first was Paulinho Boia, negotiated with Metalist, from Ukraine. The club got around R$7 million in the transaction.
