Santos’ Ângelo becomes youngest player to score in Liberta

The Meninos da Vila keep breaking records. For the second time in this edition of Liberators cup, a young athlete from Santos hit the mark of youngest player to score a goal in the tournament. Today (6), it was Ângelo’s turn, at the age of 16, 3 months and 16 days.

Scorer of Santos’ third goal in the victory against San Lorenzo 3-1 in Argentina, Ângelo surpasses Kayky, who scored against Deportivo Lara-VEN, by 2 to 1, at Peixe’s debut in the second preliminary round of the Libertadores, at 17 years, 1 month and 25 days.

Another former Santos player is on that list, Rodrygo, who scored a goal in Libertadores when he was 17, 2 months and 6 days old, in 2018.

Ângelo overcame Argentine Juan Carlos Cárdenas, who scored for Racing against Nacional-URU in 1962 at the age of 16, 7 months and 2 days.
