Santander is once again betting on safe leisure and will install a drive-in movie theater in El Sardinero for Valentine’s Day

The films ‘Beauty and the Beast’ will be screened on Friday, February 12; ‘Grease’, on Saturday the 13th; and ‘All the days of my life’, on Sunday 14 and all sessions will begin at 7:00 p.m.

The Campos de Sport parking lot in El Sardinero will once again become a drive-in movie on the weekend of February 12-14, coinciding with the celebration of Valentine’s Day, in which three films will be screened: ‘Beauty and the Beast’ , scheduled on Friday the 12th; ‘Grease’, on Saturday the 13th; and ‘Every day of my life’, on Sunday the 14th.

The Santander City Council is committed once again to the drive-in format in order to guarantee safe entertainment for all audiences, which also has the authorization of Public Health, as reported by the Councilor for Social Dynamization, Lorena Gutiérrez , who has detailed that the screenings will take place at 7:00 p.m.

Admission will be free and can be reserved from February 6, starting at 10 am, through the website www.autocinesantander.es, where the billboard can also be consulted.

Also, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, the Department has decided to give a “romantic” touch to the proposal and people who so wish can leave messages for their companions on the web, which will be projected on the big screen. Thus, spectator couples will be able to express their feelings on such an important date and in this original way.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ tells the story of Bella, a bright and energetic young woman, who dreams of adventure and a world that extends beyond the confines of her village in France. Everything changes one day when her father Maurice is imprisoned in the castle of a horrible Beast, and Bella offers to exchange with her father and is confined in the castle. She quickly becomes friends with the former staff of the place, who were transformed into household items after a curse cast by a sorceress.

For its part, ‘Grease’ is a trip to the summer of 1959. Sandy and Danny have spent a wonderful and romantic summer together, but when the holidays are over, their paths separate. Unexpectedly, they meet again at Rydell High, but Danny’s attitude is no longer the same: he is no longer the charming, attentive boy who dazzled Sandy; now he’s cocky and insensitive.

Finally, the film ‘Every day of my life’, from 2012, stars Paige, who suffers a car accident and is left in a coma as a result of the blow. When she wakes up, she has lost her memory and doesn’t even recognize her husband Leo, to whom she had been married for a short time. Leo will then have to win back his wife’s heart.

The Department of Social Dynamization has decided to bet on this leisure activity during the Valentine’s weekend after the success achieved during the two previous editions, held on the occasion of Halloween and Christmas, whose registrations were closed in record time and due to the claim from Santander themselves.

Thus, the mayor recalled that two films were offered on Halloween: ‘The amazing world of Norman’ for children and ‘IT’ for adults, while at Christmas a total of 13 films were offered. They were: ‘The Grinch’, ‘Polar Express’,’ ET ‘,’ There is only one father ‘,’ Love Actually ‘,’ Charlie and the chocolate factory ‘,’ Ghosts attack the boss’, ‘Indiana Jones In search of the Lost Ark ‘,’ Catch the flag ” Arthur Christmas: gift operation ‘and’ The origin of the guardians’, which were later joined by ‘The nativity scene’ and ‘SmallFoot’ were joined.

In both cases, the initial offer was extended, since on Halloween the films were screened for two days, when in principle it was only going to be one and at Christmas, given the success, the films went from being 11 at first to 13 finally.

“Safe leisure is one of the objectives included in the plan for the reactivation of the city ‘Santander a Punto’, so from the Social Dynamization area we are going to continue betting on events that comply with all covid regulations and allow , in addition, to support a sector particularly affected by the consequences of the pandemic ”, said the councilor.
