Chennai: India A team won the ODI unofficial cricket series against New Zealand A team. India, led by Malaysian player Sanju Samson, won the series by winning the second consecutive ODI.

Sanju welcomed winning the first series as captain. India won by four wickets in the second ODI. Beating first, New Zealand A scored 219 points. India A team reacted and took the win with 96 more balls. Opening Prithvi Shah scored 77 points in 48 balls including three sixes and 11 fours and Sanju Samson scored 37 points in 35 balls including two sixes and four fours.

Rishi Dhawan (22 out of 43 balls) and Shardul Thakur (25 including one six and three four out of 24 balls) scored the winning points. Joy Carter (72 of 80 balls with three sixes and one four) and Rachin Ravindra (61 of 65 balls) have scored half a century for New Zealand. Kuldeep Yadav, who took four wickets including a hat-trick, destroyed New Zealand. The hat-trick was achieved in the 47th over. Kuldeep completed his hat-trick by expelling Logan van Beek (four), Joe Walker (four) and Jacob Duffy (0). Sean Solia (28) was also fired by Kuldeep.

Rahul Chahar and Rishi Dhawan each took two wickets while Umran Malik and Raj Bawa took one wicket each.

Opening Prithvi Shah offered a good performance for India, who beat in response with a goal of 220 points. The opening partner Rituraj Gaekwad also did well (30 out of 34 balls with a six and four fours).

Sanju finished fourth. Logan van Beek took three wickets and Jacob Duffy two wickets for New Zealand.
