Sanitary facilities at campsites and in marinas close to – Friesland

All toilet, washing and shower facilities on campsites and in marinas in the Northern Netherlands must be closed. The three chairmen of the security regions in Friesland, Drenthe and Groningen made that decision on Thursday.

The three, including Mayor Sybrand Buma van Leeuwarden, think there is too great a risk that it will not be possible to comply with the 1.5-meter distance measure in these places, which was set up to reduce the corona virus.

The measure includes holiday parks, campsites, camping areas, camping fields and marinas. They may remain open to guests who do not use those facilities, such as users of mobile homes. Swimming pools and restaurants in these places had to be closed earlier.

The decision taken will be laid down in a new emergency ordinance and will apply until 6 April for the time being. The prohibition on meeting in public space by three or more persons, without observing the distance, is also laid down in it.
