Samsung’s “Galaxy G Fold” Leaks in New Animations
Trifold phone design revealed ahead of Galaxy Unpacked event.
Just ahead of **Samsung**’s Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9th, leaked animations are offering a peek at what could be the tech giant’s next foldable innovation. The rumored **”Galaxy G Fold”** features a trifold design, potentially revolutionizing the foldable phone market.
Animations Unveiled
Animations discovered by Android Authority in a recent One UI 8 build showcase the anticipated device, which is internally labeled as “Multifold 7.” These animations offer the clearest indication yet of the phone’s design and functionality, exceeding the brief glimpse **Samsung** provided at its January Unpacked event.
The animations highlight a three-panel design supported by two hinges. A triple-camera system sits on the rear of the right-most panel, which seems to incorporate the NFC chip. In its folded state, the central panel serves as the cover display, complete with a front-facing camera.

Folding Mechanism
The folding mechanism is distinct from the “Z” shape seen in other foldables. One animation shows the left-hand display folding inward, followed by the right-hand display folding over it. This “G-style” fold aims to protect the internal screen when the device is closed. An animation cautions against folding the right-side panel first to prevent potential damage from the camera module.
Foldable phones are gaining traction; shipments are projected to reach 70.1 million units by 2028, representing a compound annual growth rate of 36.9% (PR Newswire).
Awaiting Official Confirmation
It’s important to note that the final design could differ from what the leaks suggest. The official name, whether it will be **”Galaxy G Fold”** or **”Multifold 7″**, is also subject to change. The tech world anticipates that **Samsung** may reveal more details at the upcoming Unpacked event on July 9th, including pricing and availability information.
