Samsung Electronics Recognized by Consumer Technology Association (CTA) for 46 New Products and Services with CES 2023 Innovation Awards1 excellent. Including three “Best of Innovation” awards. Each year, they honor outstanding design and engineering across a variety of product categories in the consumer technology space.
Samsung has received awards in several categories. The awards reinforce the company’s promise to offer consumers a personalized and seamlessly connected experience while contributing to a more conscious lifestyle. Samsung wants to lead the way and encourage its customers to make informed choices by adapting their daily habits. Samsung’s efforts to deliver on this promise include investing in advanced materials, increasing the energy efficiency of products and responsible recycling, as well as refurbishing and repairing old devices. At the same time, the company’s carbon footprint was reduced by using electricity from 100% renewable energy sources at all locations in the US, Europe and China2 be reduced.
Samsung products received innovation awards in the categories of Digital Imaging/Photography, Mobile Devices and Accessories, Games, Digital Health, Wearables and Video Displays, Home AV Components and Accessories, and Mobile Apps and Software. Among the award-winning products are some that are already based on modern features. These include the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4, which are made using materials that include recycled fishing nets, and their packaging is made from 100% recycled paper. The company received Best of Innovation awards in the Computer Peripherals & Accessories, Video Display, and Cyber Security & Privacy categories.
The Innovation Awards are presented by CTA, host and organizer of CES. CES is considered the global stage for innovations and the most influential technology event in the world. CES 2023 will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada from January 5 to 8 and will focus more on the theme of sustainability.
Awarded “Best of Innovation”:
Samsung S3B512C security chip – Samsung’s all-in-one security chip was awarded “Best of Innovation” in the Cybersecurity & Personal Privacy category. The Samsung S3B512C biometric card solution, a fingerprint sensor, a security element (SE) and a secure processor (SP) are integrated on one chip. The chip also offers extensive security features with Samsung’s proprietary fingerprint authentication algorithm and anti-spoofing technology. This makes the S3B512C an all-in-one security chip in the cybersecurity industry that reads biometric information via a fingerprint sensor, stores and authenticates encrypted data in a tamper-proof manner, and processes data securely.

Tailored AI washing and drying – Samsung Bespoke AI washers and dryers were awarded for their modern design and integrated AI technologies. The Bespoke AI Washing Machine with AI OptiWash was awarded in the Smart Home category and the Bespoke AI Dryer with AI Optimal Dry in the Home Appliance category. The Bespoke AI washing machine automatically recognizes the type of laundry and how dirty it is and adjusts performance accordingly. The washing program itself can also be controlled with Samsung’s SmartThings app. The Bespoke AI dryer uses sensors and algorithms to measure the moisture content of your laundry and adjust the drying time and temperature. The Bespoke AI dryer recognizes users’ washing habits, for a personalized experience. The dryer offers different color options to be able to design the washing area at home even more individually.
SmartThings energy – Award-winning in the Software & Mobile Apps category, the SmartThings Energy service in the SmartThings app offers a convenient way to reduce your home energy consumption. In addition to monitoring energy consumption, SmartThings Energy provides insights and recommendations for the efficient operation of devices connected through the platform based on their respective usage patterns.
Samsung 990 PRO with 2TB SSD heatsink – As winner of the Innovation Award in the category of computer peripherals and accessories, the Samsung 990 PRO with Heatsink SSD 2TB is the company’s fastest PCIe 4.0 solid-state drive (SSD) (available in Germany from 2023) – and with superior energy efficiency. It was developed for game consoles or PCs and offers extremely fast speeds for shorter loading times. The combination of heat sink, nickel plating on the controller and Samsung’s Dynamic Thermal Guard maximizes the cooling effect to prevent performance degradation due to overheating. Samsung 512GB CXL Memory Expansion – Award-winning in the Computer Hardware & Components category, Samsung’s CXL 512GB Memory Expansion Module is a memory device that supports the highly anticipated CXL 2.0 interface and comes in an EDSFF (E3.S) package. The module is therefore suitable for the next generation of high-performance enterprise servers and data centers. Samsung ISOCELL HP3 CMOS image sensor – As a modern mobile sensor with an optical aspect ratio of 1/1.4 inch and a pixel size of 0.56㎛ for slim camera designs, the Samsung ISOCELL HP3 was awarded in the Digital Imaging/Photography category. It offers the small pixel technology in mobile cameras and 200 megapixels capable of capturing detailed images. Samsung W920+RF 6550 next generation improvement for wearable devices – Awarded in the Wearable Technologies category, Samsung’s Exynos W920 System on a Chip (SoC) and Exynos RF 6550 connectivity solution represent a modern tandem offering for the next generation of wearables. The Exynos W920 processor, which sits on a 5-nanometer (nm) Extreme Ultra-Violet (EUV) processing node, includes an LTE modem, and with a powerful graphics processor and dual-core CPU, delivers the performance of modern wearable devices needed. The corresponding 6550 RF chip on a 28nm process node integrates Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GNSS connectivity into the Exynos W920 design with high reliability.
