Samsung will release its cheapest 5G smartphone so far in early February. It concerns the Galaxy A32, which costs 299 euros and is probably equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 720-soc. The phone has a lower resolution than its predecessor and no OLED screen.
Samsung only has one infographic over de Galaxy A32 put online stating that there is an octacore-soc in it. The manufacturer does not say which chip it is. According to SamMobile, among others is it about the Dimensity 720-soc from MediaTek. The clock speeds mentioned by Samsung also correspond to the specifications of that soc. A 5G modem is integrated in the soc, with support for frequencies up to 6GHz. The modem does not support mmWave frequencies, but in the Benelux there are no 5G networks that use it yet.
The device has a 6.5 “LCD with an HD + resolution of 1600×720 pixels. The resolution is therefore lower than that of the Galaxy A31 from last year, which has a 6.4 “OLED screen with 2400×1080 pixels. The battery capacity is unchanged at 5000mAh and the three cameras and depth sensor on the back are also comparable.
There will be versions with 4GB, 6GB or 8GB ram. It is unknown which variant Samsung will sell in the Netherlands and Belgium. The phone has 128GB of flash storage, which can be expanded with a MicroSD card. The device has a fingerprint scanner on the side and runs on Android, but which version is still unclear.
