Samsung Shows New Boss in Indonesia

KOMPAS.com – Starting 2021, Samsung officially appointed Yoonsoo Kim as President Samsung Electronics Indonesia. He is not a new figure because he has worked at Samsung for 20 years.

Kim will lead Samsung Electronics’ growth and innovation in the Indonesian market. Previously, he served as President of Samsung Electronics Malaysia in 2018-2020.

He also led the Mobile Phone division of Samsung Electronics Indonesia in 2009-2012. At that time, Kim took Samsung to the number one position in the market smartphone Android in 2011.

According to Kim, Indonesia is a country with great potential. This is because Indonesia has a dynamic culture and a high productive age.

“I hope, together with our partners, Samsung will become a beloved brand in Indonesia through leading innovations that bring more meaningful benefits to the lives of Indonesians,” said Kim in a written statement to KompasTekno, Sunday (24/1/2021).

Kim also hopes that under his leadership, Samsung Electronics Indonesia can transform into a place to work, play, and provide opportunities to achieve dreams in a career.

Kim said, one of the challenges currently being faced is consistently bringing the latest Samsung innovations into people’s lives in Indonesia.

For information, Yoonsoo Kim started his career at Samsung since 1998 at the Samsung Electronics Mobile Business in Europe. Then at Samsung Electronics Indonesia he served as IT and Mobile Division Head.

Armed with his experience, the man who earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Arizona’s Thunderbird School of Global Management continued his career as President Director of Samsung Electronics Kazakhstan, before moving to China and Malaysia.
