Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra vs Galaxy S20 Ultra, where is the difference?

Reportedly, the superiority of the Galaxy S21 Ultra over the S20 Ultra is not too striking.

SuaraBogor.id – Family Galaxy S21 officially introduced at the weekend. Present as the most sophisticated in the new line of devices is Galaxy S21 Ultra.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is a successor Galaxy S20 Ultra which was launched in March 2020. But some commentators say that the difference between the GalaxyS21 Ultra and the Galaxy S20 Ultra is nothing too striking.

Then, where are the differences between the Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Galaxy S20 Ultra? The following is a comparison as quoted from GSM Arena, Monday (18/1/2021):

1. Design
The Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with dimensions of 165.1 x 75.6 x 8.9 mm and weighs 227 grams. While the Galaxy S20 Ultra measures 166.9 x 76 x 8.8 mm and weighs 222 grams.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is coated with Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and back. While the Galaxy S20 Ultra is protected by Gorilla Glass 6 on both sides.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with a flat screen, in contrast to the S20 Ultra which has a slightly rounded screen. While the rear camera design comes with a new look, in contrast to the S20 Ultra which is more like the Galaxy A series.

2. Screen
The Galaxy S21 Ultra screen uses an Amoled panel measuring 6.8 inches, 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10 + with a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels or QHD +. While the Galaxy S20 Ultra screen also has the same specifications, except for a larger size of 6.9 inches.

3. Camera
The Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with a completely new camera design, where the rear camera has a rectangular module with three cameras on the left and one small camera on the right along with the LED Flash.

The rear camera configuration is also different. The S21 Ultra comes with a 108MP main camera (wide), 10MP periscope 10x zoom, 10MP telephoto 3x zoom, and 12MP ultrawide.

While the Galaxy S20 Ultra uses a 108MP main camera (wide), a 48MP periscope 4x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide. This phone also doesn’t use Laser AF behind it.

For the front camera, both phones carry a 40MP camera.

4. Performance
The Galaxy S21 Ultra is driven by the Exynos 2100, with an option of 12 GB or 16 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. The Galaxy S20 Ultra relies on the Exynos 990 and only has 12 GB RAM and 128 GB ROM options.

This chipset difference is clearly the flagship for the S21 Ultra. The Exynos 2100 is a counterweight to the Snapdragon 888, and is claimed even higher. While the Exynos 990 is still far behind the competitors in its class, the Snapdragon 865.

The storage option has clearly been won by the S21 Ultra, but the S20 Ultra has an additional MicroSD storage slot of up to 1TB.

5. Battery
The two phones both have 5,000mAh battery capacities. However the S20 Ultra is still taller as it supports fast charging up to 45W. Unlike the S21 Ultra which was lowered to 25W.

6. Price
The Galaxy S21 Ultra is priced at IDR 19 million for the 12 GB / 128 GB variant, IDR 20 million for the 12 GB / 256 GB variant, and IDR 22 million for the 16 GB / 512 GB variant.

While the Galaxy S20 Ultra last year was sold for Rp. 18.5 million for the 12 GB RAM model and 128 GB of internal memory.
